Much of what remains of Shobak Castle today are reconstructions and additions from the Mamluks and Ayyoubi periods, the major highlights: two churches inside the castle of Shobak where beneath are catacombs with Crusader cross carved in the east wall and others with Qur’anic inscriptions in Kufic script.
