Winter at Tantora returns

Global superstars Lionel Ritchie and Enrique Iglesias were among the headline acts performing at the second Winter in Tantora festival, that took place at Saudi’s spectacular AlUla heritage site.

The yearly event brought together the best of art, music, theatre, culture and history in a 12-week celebration of performances, activities and experiences, that took place every weekend from December 2019 until March 2020.

Dozens of artists appeared live during the festival, including legendary Greek pianist Yanni, returning for a second year after his sellout performance in 2018, and British funk-jazz group Jamiroquai.

The annual festival also offers an array of activities for sports fans, adventure seekers and history enthusiasts. Guests can cheer on riders in the world’s second-biggest endurance horse race or savor culinary experiences curated by top chefs. Luxury brand boutiques and traditional souqs are also available to explore, alongside art exhibitions and pop-up restaurants.

Tantora’s action-packed lineup takes place against the backdrop of AlUla, a heritage site once set upon the ancient incense trade route from Arabia to Egypt. The UNESCO-recognized site is not yet open to the public, so the festival was a rare opportunity to be among the first to experience its timeless charm.
